About Us

At Old Bison, we harvest and mill pecan, red oak, American elm, cedar elm, hack berry, bios d arc, mesquite, limited amount of black walnut and eastern red cedar! Our specialty is 2” live edge slabs ranging from 5 to 10 foot long, usually about 14-22 inches wide. We harvest mostly dead trees and obtain many logs with spalting to add uniqueness. We air dry slabs for almost 2 years, then plane them to get to dimension. Our drying barn is equipped with fans to keep air moving through the drying process.
